For many people living with life-limiting illnesses, every home visit from a healthcare worker brings more than medicine,it brings hope, comfort and the reassurance that they are not alone.

That hope has received a major boost following a generous donation of an Electric and solar-powered three-wheeler vehicle valued at MK26 million by SGV.

The donation was received with deep gratitude by the founders, Board of Trustees, staff, patients and the entire Ndi Moyo family.

The vehicle will strengthen the organisation’s outreach programme by transporting healthcare workers, patients, medicines and medical supplies to communities across Salima and surrounding districts thereby ensuring that compassionate care reaches those who
need it most.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, SGV Business Development Manager, Angie Macjessie, said the donation reflects the company’s commitment to giving back to the community and supporting organisations that are transforming lives through quality healthcare.

“This is our way of contributing to a healthier and more caring society. We believe that together we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable people,” she said.

Representing the Board of Trustees for Ndimoyo Palliative Care Trust, Dr. Margaret Kubwalo Chaika described the donation as timely and transformative.

She noted that fuel costs have been one of the organisation’s major operational expenses, particularly for outreach and home-based care services.

The Electric and solar-powered vehicle will significantly reduce these costs, allowing more resources to be directed towards patient care.

“This vehicle is more than just transport; it is an investment in hope. It will enable us to reach more patients, reduce operational costs, and continue providing free palliative care to those who need it most,” she said.
